5 Facts About North Korean Dictator Kim Jong Un
He went to school in Switzerland
According to Heavy.com, Kim possibly went to an English-language school in Switzerland called the International School of Bern under the name "Pak Chol."
The Washington Post reported in 2009 that Kim was attending the Swiss boarding school, which lies only a few hundred yards from the North Korean Embassy.
"While Kim was at the English-language school, which has about 280 students from 40 countries, he befriended the children of American diplomats and learned French and German, according to the Swiss weekly L'Hebdo," The Washington Post article states.
However, some observers have noted that "Pak Chol" was likely Kim Jong Chol, Kim's older brother.
The Post also reported in 2009 that Kim attended a German-speaking state school near Bern called Liebefeld-Steinhölzli Schule under the name "Pak Un" from 1998 to 2000. He was reportedly registered with authorities in the European nation as a son of a North Korean embassy employee.
