5 famous people now supporting, endorsing Trump after assassination attempt
Dave Portnoy
Barstool Sports CEO Dave Portnoy, who interviewed Trump at the White House in 2020, released a video expressing his belief that the assassination attempt has secured the election for Trump, and questioned why Biden took so long to respond.
"I was on a plane when this assassination attempt happened," Portnoy said in a video posted to X. "Absolutely insane. One of the craziest things in our lifetime. It will live on forever. I think the election is over: Trump's going to win. More importantly — not more importantly — but in this country, the hate, the division, all of it; this is how you get to this point. It's insane."
Portnoy went on to blast Biden for taking so long to issue a statement in response to the potential murder of a former president.
"He's the president of the United States," Portnoy said. "A former president ... just got his ear shot off in an assassination attempt. ... It's been an hour and a half. Crickets from the White House! You're the president of the United States. What are you doing? You have to react, whether it's an assassination attempt, a terrorist attack, whatever it may be. An hour and a half? Crickets? Nothing? What is Joe Biden doing?"
Biden released a statement nearly two hours after the attempt on Trump's life, and delivered a speech from the Oval Office the next day calling for national unity.
