Denounces trans-identified activist's funeral at St. Patrick's Cathedral
Butker also discussed the letter he sent to Cardinal Timothy Dolan of the Archdiocese of New York following last month's funeral of a trans-identified activist at the revered St. Patrick's Cathedral denounced by critics as sacrilegious. The deceased was eulogized by attendees as "St. Cecilia, the mother of all whores."
The kicker agreed with Dolan's assessment of the letter that he was "upset." He wanted to "clear the air," saying the letter was meant to encourage Dolan to "make a statement condemning what happened."
Condemning "all of these things being said when you watch the funeral that are making fun of the Catholic faith, that are making fun of our Lord," Butker expressed disappointment.

"I was waiting on someone to come out and say that this is outrageous, this is an abomination, this should have never happened, this should have been stopped and nothing came," he said.
Butker previously appeared on the cardinal's show and received a request to go back.
"I would love to go on the show but I can't unless something is addressed with what happened at the St. Patrick's Cathedral," he said.
He maintained that "someone needs to be held accountable."
"It should have never have happened; it should have been stopped before it even began," he said.
He urged "leaders in the Catholic Church" to stand up against "the woke things that are going on in our society." He decried that "sometimes we value what the world says about us instead of what Jesus Christ says about us."
Dolan released a statement defending the archdiocese's actions, saying he believes the "cathedral acted extraordinarily well." He tried to assure critics that "we didn't know the background" of the recently deceased.
Dolan asserted that when the "irreverence and disrespect" that drew outrage began, priests presiding over the service opted to do a "general service" that included readings, a sermon, and prayers but excluded the Liturgy of the Eucharist, which consists of the blessing of bread and wine as well as communion.
