5 reactions to the Hunter Biden verdict
Geraldo Rivera
Geraldo Rivera, a longtime journalist who often served as the lone voice representing the liberal point of view on the Fox News opinion program "The Five" before his recent departure from the network, opined in an X post Tuesday that he was "stunned and chagrined by the unanimous guilty verdicts."
While Rivera acknowledged that "the evidence against the president's son was overwhelming," he indicated that he "thought the family's show of support and the hometown jury's shared experiences would command compassion for the errant sole surviving son of President Biden." Rivera's analysis reflects the fact that Biden owns property in Wilmington and represented the state of Delaware in the U.S. Senate for 36 years.
"Most troubling was the unfairness of using a seldom-prosecuted federal statute against Hunter, which seems ad hominem," Rivera added. "He's now facing substantial jail time, up to 25 years."
