5 Thanksgiving Traditions for the Whole Family

With Thanksgiving among us, let us take a look at some popular traditions that people in America do to celebrate the holidays.

1.) Thanksgiving Prayer

Thanksgiving is the perfect time for families to get together and gather in a time of prayer. Many hold hands at the table, and some even stand up around the table.

2.) Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving is also a great time to express everything you are grateful for. Some families pass around a basket and drop in little papers of things they are grateful of. Other families go around the table and each person says one thing they would like to give thanks for.

3.) Family Football Game

While some families actually sit to watch football all day, others grab the pigskin and head outside to throw it around. Plus, when else can you see grandfather, father, and son duke it out to represent their generation!

4.) Thanksgiving Day Parade

The Thanksgiving Day Parade is a staple of early morning celebrating as floats, motorized carts, marching bands, singers, and dancers all march down Manhattan displaying some of our favorite tunes, shows, cartoons, and icons. People travel from all over the world to see the parade.

5.) Christmas Decorations

Yes believe it or not, Thanksgiving also represents the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas. Many families signal this as the official start of the holiday season and begin to take out their Christmas decorations. With the whole family over, why not do it together!
