Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

A long-time ally and supporter of Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was quick to congratulate the U.S. president-elect following his victory in the 2024 election, calling it “history’s greatest comeback” and a “huge victory.”

In a message posted on social media, Netanyahu wrote, “Dear Donald and Melania Trump, Congratulations on history’s greatest comeback!” He went on to praise Trump’s return to the White House, describing it as “a new beginning for America and a powerful recommitment to the great alliance between Israel and America.”

“This is a huge victory!” Netanyahu added, closing his note by emphasizing their “true friendship.”

The warm congratulations from Netanyahu comes as no surprise, given the close personal and political ties between the two leaders. During Trump’s first term as president, he and Netanyahu forged a deep bond, characterized by significant policy shifts that favored Israeli interests, including the U.S. recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and the historic Abraham Accords, which led to normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations.
