'50 Shades of Grey' Movie News: Jamie Dornan Discusses Role of Christian Grey

The upcoming film adaptation of E.L. James's best-selling novel series "50 Shades of Grey" has cast Jamie Dornan to the starring role of Christian Grey. It is Dornan's biggest role to date, and he recently shared his feeling on being cast and what the early stages of the role have been like.

In an exclusive interview with Entertainment weekly, the actor discussed how he is thinking about the role.

"I certainly don't fear it. I already got a glimpse into working with [director] Sam [Taylor-Johnson] at the test, and I'd met [co-star] Dakota [Johnson] by then. So I had a glimpse into how I felt it would be if I got the part. None of it scared me," Dornan said.

Dornan also discussed how landing this big role has gotten him more media attention than he is used to.

"It's happening, but not in an unmanageable way at the moment," Dornan says of the paparazzi. "I've been around it before and it's ugly, but I'm glad I'm 31 and not 21, and married. I feel very settled. I'm not running in and out of clubs at 5 a.m. anymore," the actor said to Entertainment Weekly.

The casting of Christian Grey was quite an evolving story.

Early in September in was announced that the "Sons of Anarchy" star Charlie Hunnam would be taking the role of Christian Grey, but now, according to the Hollywood Reporter, there has been a change. It seems his television schedule is keeping him too busy to accept the role.

"The filmmakers of Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead given Hunnam's immersive TV schedule which is not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," Universal Pictures said in a statement.
