3. The International Rescue Committee
The International Rescue Committee, which “responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future,” has announced that in honor of Giving Tuesday, “all gifts, up to $250,000 will be tripled by a generous donor, until December 1 at midnight.”
Currently, the IRC is working to “protect refugees and displaced people from COVID-19 with masks, soap and other hygiene supplies, (and) treat people who have contracted the illness.”
Charity Navigator has awarded the IRC a three-star rating. Like World Vision, the IRC scores extremely high on the issue of accountability and transparency, with a near-perfect score of 97%. GlobalGiving, a partner of Charity Navigator, has awarded the IRC “GlobalGiving Leader Status” for “demonstrating active engagement and/or effectiveness over the past year.”
