6 pastors, Christian leaders react to American Airlines crash with Army helicopter that left 67 dead
5. Mike D. McClure Jr., senior pastor of Rock City Church in Birmingham, Alabama

In a message delivered as a prayer in a post on Facebook, McClure, who is also a musician and known as Pastor Mike Jr., offered comfort to the grieving.
“This tragedy has left families broken, dreams shattered, and hearts grieving. Lord, we lift up every person affected by this devastating loss. Wrap Your arms around the families who are mourning right now — be their comfort, their strength, and their peace. When words fail them, let Your presence speak.
"God, we may not understand why, but we trust You. Even in the pain, even in the questions, we know You are still near to the brokenhearted. Help these families find hope in You, even as they walk through the valley of grief. Surround them with love, with support, and with the reassurance that they are not alone.
"We also pray for the city, the first responders, and all those who are processing this loss. Give wisdom, clarity, and peace to those leading through this moment. Let this be a time where people turn to You, finding strength beyond their own.
"Lord, hold every grieving heart in Your hands. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
