7 Christmas movies for families to watch this season
'My Christmas Hero'
“My Christmas Hero” debuted on Great American Family after Thanksgiving Day. The movie highlights faith, freedom and the joys of the Christmas season.
Along with starring in the movie, Candace Cameron Bure is also an executive producer of the film.
My Christmas Hero is the story of a “U.S. Army reservist and orthopedic physician, Nicole Ramsey (Bure). She is dedicated to serving military service members and their families at the Joint Military Base in Lacey, Washington, home of I Corps and the 62nd Airlift Wing,” the synopsis reads. “This Christmas, with the help of many dedicated heroes, Dr. Ramsey is on a mission to honor a special fallen soldier and bring much-needed healing to her own family.”
Bure and Great American Family President and CEO Bill Abbott hosted the world premiere of “My Christmas Hero” exclusively for U.S. service men and women and their families last month at the joint Army and Air Force Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Washington state, where the film is set.
“We truly enjoyed the opportunity to salute these real Christmas heroes at the premiere of ‘My Christmas Hero’ on the joint base,” Bure said in a statement shared with The Christian Post.
This event follows a recent announcement that Great American Family has experienced 11-consecutive months of growth, making it the fastest-growing network.
“My Christmas Hero” is a Syrup Studios production in association with Candy Rock Entertainment. Mick MacKay served as producer, and Martin Wood directed the original screenplay written by Jim Head.
