‘God’s man for this job’: 7 conservative Christians react to Mike Johnson becoming speaker
Richard G. Lee
Pastor Richard G. Lee, founding pastor of the Georgia-based First Redeemer Church and the president and speaker for There’s Hope America broadcasting media in Atlanta, Georgia, expressed his support for Johnson.
“Finally, an Evangelical Christian becomes speaker of the house,” Lee said in a statement provided to CP. “In spite of all the complaining it seems that the wait for a new speaker was a wise thing to do.”
“When Louisiana Congressman Mike Johnson stepped to the podium of the U.S. House of Representatives with the Bible cradled in his hand, and spoke boldly about how ‘the best days of America’ could be ahead, it seemed not to be an empty campaign promise, but a word of hope for the future of all Americans.”
