'7 Days to Die' Coming to Consoles This Summer
Telltale Publishing, the same publisher behind "The Walking Dead" game series, is bringing another zombie survival game, "7 Days to Die" to current generation consoles this summer, according to a report in Polygon. The game is set in an open world and combines first-person shooting, tower defense, crafting and role-playing elements, which is why it is called a "survival horde crafting game." Come summer 2016, it will be arriving on PS4 and Xbox One consoles, after having been on Steam's Early Access program since December 2013.
"7 Days to Die" will get a physical release sometime June, which the report said is the second retail game released by Telltale Publishing after "The Jackbox Party Pack." A digital version of the game will likewise be made available, according to another report in VG 24/7.
The VG 24/7 report also cited that the console version compared to the early access version offers something more to gamers, and this is the new multiplayer mode and local split-screen co-op which is exclusive to the console versions. The PC version of the game is said to have sold over 1.5 million copies, making it a successful game.

According to the game's website, it features exploration of the open world, crafting things from weapons, clothes, vehicles and more, building one's fortress to protect oneself from zombies, and the freedom to choose how to play the game and which part of the world to explore. It also claims that the game reinvented the survival game genre, because it has become more than just shooting and killing one's enemies, but also working cooperatively with other players to build a fortress and protect it.
Engadget reports that the game will retail for $30. The game was developed by developer The Fun Pimps. Those who pre-order the game will be treated to five free character skins from "The Walking Dead" series, which includes Michonne and Lee. Details of the game's features, including upcoming DLC which Telltale promised will bring to the game, will be announced in the coming days.
