7 important women of the Protestant Reformation
Katharina von Bora
Katharina von Bora is most famous for being the runaway nun who married Martin Luther, though her support of the Protestant Reformation leader was extensive.
“Katie managed the family finances and freed Luther for writing, teaching, and preaching,” explained Dan Graves of Christianity.com.
“Luther called her the ‘morning star of Wittenberg’ since she rose at 4 a.m. to care for her many responsibilities. She took care of the vegetable garden, orchard, fishpond, and barnyard animals, even butchering the stock herself.”
Also rendered Katherine, she bore Luther six children and also adopted four others.
“Had she not been a hard-working woman of pure character, the reformation might have suffered,” Graves added.
