'Courageous Legacy' – Digital and DVD
The Kendrick Brothers have a double-feature release this Christmas with the DVD release of “Show Me the Father” and “Courageous Legacy.”
The fourth film ever released by Sherwood Pictures was re-released in theaters this fall and is now on Digital and DVD. Viewers will get to see what happens to many of the characters 10 years later in a new ending.
“Courageous” was originally released in 2011 and grossed $35.2 million, over 17 times its $2 million budget.
The Christian film follows Sheriff's Deputy Adam Mitchell (Alex Kendrick) who “endures a terrible personal tragedy that causes him to question what is really important to him. Taking comfort in his religion, Adam vows to become a better parent to his teenage son (Rusty Martin) and convinces his friends on the force to sign a pledge that they will all strive to become better Christians and better parents,” the film synopsis reads.
The re-release will include bonus scenes along with a new ending. “Courageous Legacy” was remastered and is the extended version of the Kendrick Brothers’ classic film that has been impacting fathers and families around the world since its initial release.
Discussing “Courageous Legacy,” Stephen Kendrick told CP: “It's the best version of the film. People who liked 'Courageous' years ago, it's a new edit, it's re-colored, it's got a new ending in it, it's a fun ride. We hope people will take advantage of that!”
The studio re-release celebrates the 10th anniversary of the film.
