A/G 2004 National Conference on Disability Ministries Schedule Set

The schedule of speakers, date and cost of the 2004 Assemblies of God National Conference on Disability Ministry, “Perfected in Weakness” have been announced by the A/G news service on May 17, 2004. Spearheaded jointly by Special Touch Ministry, Inc. and the A/G National Center for the Blind, the conference is specifically designed to help pastors and lay leaders minister to disabled congregants.

The Conference date has been set for November 5-6 at the Central Assembly of God, in Springfield, Missouri, and the keynote speaker for the event will be A/G superintendent Thomas Trask.

"We are excited to have General Superintendent Thomas Trask as the 'Perfected in Weakness' keynote speaker," said Paul Weingartner, director of NCB. "Also, gospel recording artist and song writer Tony Ellenburg will be providing special music and worship for the event."

As part of the conference, the pastors and leaders will go through workshops that include: Building a Disability-friendly Church; Marriage, Romance and Disability; Including Kids with Disabilities in Children's Ministries; TNT, Teaching with Noise and Touch; Disability 101 among others.

The conference also features three separate tracks to choose from: Pastors and ministry leaders track, family life issues track and a children's ministry track.

The cost for the conference is $90 before October 1, and $110 thereafter.
