A/G to Stream General Council Live
Thousands from the Assemblies of God will be gathering in Denver, Colo. early August for the 51st A/G General Council, and for the first time, they will open the Council up to millions more around the world via satellite TV and Internet.
The Assemblies of God is the worlds largest Pentecostal Christian denomination with about 15 million members worldwide. Its General Council, the highest legislative body in the traditionally de-centralized denomination, meets every two years.
Organizers believe this years attendance rates will be stronger than the last and hope many more will view the proceedings online.
A/G is partnering with Inspiration Network International to broadcast each evening service and plan to re-broadcast those services in the weeks following the General Council. In the U.S., the network will broadcast the services live from August 2-5 at 8:20 to 11 p.m. EST.
Organizers urge international viewers to check online at www.getinsp.com to see the availability of the broadcast in respective regions.
Most major denominations stream their annual or biennial meetings online for viewers. This summer, the Southern Baptist Convention, the Nazarene Church and the Presbyterian Church in America all streamed their gatherings.
