Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, another group that worked to ensure the passage of Issue 1, reacted with glee to Tuesday's election results: "The passing of Issue 1 confirmed what we knew all along — the majority of Ohioans support abortion access."

"Despite the significant challenges our friends at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Ohio faced, from collecting 700,000 signatures, to defending democracy with the August Special Election, and combating misinformation, Ohioans made it clear that abortion is a constitutional right," the group added. "We are proud to be with our allies and supporters on the just side of history, protecting reproductive freedom for current and future generations of Ohioans."

At the same time, Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio suggested that "our work is just beginning," adding, "now, more than ever, our mission of providing critical care across the state must continue." The group signaled that "we are committed to expanding our services and increasing access to abortion care for Ohioans and those who come to us from states with cruel abortion bans."

Expressing gratitude to Ohio voters for "protecting reproductive freedom and safeguarding the right to make decisions that are best for our health, our lives, and our futures," the network of abortion clinics characterized itself as "a beacon of hope to so many across the nation." The organization concluded with an announcement that "Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio's doors are open" and "abortion is legal in Ohio."
