A World Without Christmas
Did you know that-
The United States has 78 people registered under the name S. Claus - and one under Kris Kringle?
December is the most popular month for nose jobs?
The average wage of a mall Santa: $11 an hour? With real beard: $20?
The weight of Santa's sleigh loaded with one small stuffed animal for every kid on earth: 333,333 tons?
The number of reindeer required to pull a 333,333-ton sleigh: 214,206? (Plus Rudolph of course!)
To deliver all his gifts in one night, Santa would simply need to make 822.6 visits per second? Which means his 333,333 ton sleigh would need to travel at a mere 2,000,000 miles per hour.

Unfortunately, at that speed, Santa and his reindeer would instantaneously burn up in the Earth's atmosphere like a bunch of meteoric Christmas cookies from outer space.
And did you also know that-
If Jesus was never born, I don't think many people would notice?
Oh sure, we might perceive a lack of Nativity scenes, and the holiday songs would only focus on Santa and how it's cold outside, but I have no doubt that our gift-obsessed shopocalypse would continue to dominate the winter landscape.
And after all the sugar rushes, food comas, and awkward family photos, we would go back to our normal lives - right?
Wrong, because if Jesus was never born, then…
The world would be a much more primitive place where women are slaves of free men, children are sacrificed to idols, and the concepts of charity and love are all but missing from society.
If Jesus was never born, education and science would look very different - much more primitive to be sure!
If Jesus was never born, what a difference it would make in literature, music and the arts.
If Jesus was never born, there would be a sorrowful lack of charity and the protection of life, and the United States of America would have just been an unrealized historical dream.
But worst of all, if Jesus was never born, there would exist only one spiritual destination for our eternal souls; a dark and tormenting place where we would be eternally separated from God. Jesus Christ came to earth as a man to live a perfect life, die a horrible death, and rise from the grave so that the penalty for the world's sins would be paid in full…and eternal life made available to anyone who trusts in Him alone for salvation.
Without that Holy Night, the world would be missing the greatest gift ever given. God the Father loved His creation too much to be eternally separated from us. So the Creator wrapped Himself in human flesh and entered into this broken, sin-ravaged planet - and when He did, the Captain of His mighty angelic army proclaimed:
"Don't be afraid! I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior-yes, the Messiah, the Lord-has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger" (Luke 2:10-12).
What if Jesus was never born? Well, that is something we can cross off the Christmas worry list without even checking it twice. Two thousand years ago, Jesus WAS born. This tiny baby lying in a manger grew into a man, then a miracle worker and the greatest teacher that ever lived, and finally the Savior that the world had longed for since the beginning of time.
Is this Christmas season more of an 'X' mas season where x marks the spot for a jumble of mixed emotions and materialistic focus?
If so, perhaps you need to emotionally revisit the event that split the calendar and divided humanity into those who have found the reason for the season and those still stumbling in the darkness.
When you look at the presents under the tree this Christmas, remember the gift of eternal life that has been granted to you because of His sacrifice.
And when you think of Santa delivering gifts to children all over the world (at 2 million mph), reflect on your role in THE Cause. Your sack isn't filled with candy and toys, but your heart is filled with the joy that Jesus Christ brings and the message of eternal life.
If there ever was a time to be bold in sharing how you came to adore Him, it is now. People may sing about a silent night, but the weather inside their souls is frightful.
Many of our friends and family live in a world without Christmas…will you bring them the good news that will bring joy to all people?
