Aaron Curry Leans on God After Oakland Raiders Release
Aaron Curry, 26, was waived as an Oakland Raiders linebacker only two weeks after being activated from the physically unable to perform list. However, the NFL linebacker is holding on to his faith in God to determine the next steps in his career.
Curry came into the NFL as the fourth overall pick by Seattle in 2009, and was picked up by the Raiders during a mid-season trade last year that also involved future draft picks. However, the Raiders only played Curry in two games this year, where he totaled 18 snaps, before releasing the linebacker with knee issues.
Curry announced his departure from the team in the form of a faithful tweet on Tuesday.

"No longer a Raider! On to my next venture! Expanding Gods territory," the NFL player announced to over 34,000 followers on Twitter. "I am confident in my abilities to play linebacker, I know God will cook something up for me!"
The NFL free agent, who started a Bible study on Twitter and spoke about his faith in God allowing him to be himself everyday on his Twitter biography, also spoke about focusing on God's purpose.
"God will continue (to) work wonders in my life! Focused on His purpose," Curry tweeted.
While the free agent received positive messages from Raiders fans, he also thanked them for their support.
"Aye s/o to all of #RAIDERNATION for the support," Curry tweeted. "Y'all continue to pray for me!"
After thanking them for their support, Curry also decided to tweet "Psalm 107:1."
The Bible verse reads, "Give thanks to the Lord for he is good; his love endures forever."
Writing one day before Thanksgiving, Curry ended his faithful tweets by sharing, "Every burden He will bear when The Lord puts a lot on your plate."
