Aaron Hernandez Cannot Marry Fiance, Mother of His Child: 'We'll Do Everything to Not Have That Happen'
Aaron Hernandez will not be permitted to marry his fiancé and the mother of his baby because marriage is a privilege reserved for those with "good" behavior.
Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson has stated that his team will do everything possible to prevent the former New England Patriot tight end from wedding his fiancé, Shayanna Jenkins, while in prison. Jenkins is all the mother of Hernandez's 7-month-old son; a marriage between the two would prevent Jenkins from having to testify against her spouse.
"We're not going to revamp our entire security system to perform marriages inside our prison. If you want to get married, what you do is, you stay out of jail," Hodgson told the NFL Network on Wednesday in an interview with the "NFL AM" show.

Hodgson echoed his statements from the day before, when he announced that marriage is a privilege that should be reserved for "good citizens."
Speaking with USA Today Sports on Tuesday he said marriage is one of "those rights are things that you access on the outside, if you're a good citizen. We'll do everything we can to not have that happen."
Hernandez has been placed in a cell by his self and will not be able to make contact with other inmates for at least another week, according to Hodgson. The officer said that officials are interested in seeing how the other inmates will react to Hernandez and how Hernandez responds to those reactions.
"Now he's in an unit where the inmates, although only one person in that unit can be out at a time, he would still be, for example, in the common area where inmates can walk up to their cell door and see from inside their cells through a glass window and can speak through that door," Hodgson told the station. "We want to see what reaction we're going to get from those inmates in that unit and how he reacts to that."
Hernandez is currently facing first degree murder charges for the death of Odin Lloyd.
