Academy CMA Awards 2013: Miranda Lambert Steals Show From Taylor Swift

Miranda Lambert and Jason Aldean were two of the biggest winners Sunday night during the 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, over 1.1 million fans cast votes for the annual country awards ceremony held in Las Vegas. The biggest honor of the night went to Luke Bryan, who secured "Entertainer of the Year." Bryan debuted his first compilation album titled "Spring Break…Here to Party" earlier this year. The album featured one of the singer's most popular songs, "I'm In Love With the Girl."

"I don't know what to say guys," Bryan said as members the audience shouted "Luke." "Thank you so much fans for doing this to me. Thank you so much for making my life what it is. What I always wanted to be was just a country singer who got to ride on a tour bus and show up on a new stage and play music every night."

For a fourth consecutive year, Miranda Lambert won Female Vocalist of the Year. Overall Lambert was the winner on the most awards on Sunday night. She also took the prize for Single Record of the Year as artist, and Song of the Year, as artist and composer, for "Over You." Lambert's husband, Shelton, helped to compose the song and also shared in the award.

Male Vocalist of the Year went to Jason Aldean, who won the category for the first time. In 2005, he was named Best New Artist. Sunday's award was one of two for the artist who also won an award for Vocal Event of the Year, with Luke Bryan and Eric Church, all three who sang "The Only Way I Know."

Eric Church won Album of the Year for Chief, making it his third ACM award. Little Big Town won the group award and Thompson Square won for their duo. Taylor Swift was nominated for four awards but went away empty-handed.
