Activision Releases Storyline Trailer for 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 3' (VIDEO)
Treyarch and Activision have just released a storyline trailer for "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" that puts its setting at World War 2.
Treyarch's upcoming first-person shooter, "Call of Duty: Black Ops III," that's due to be released early next month, now has a new trailer that features the dark and dangerous setting of World War 2, with a surplus of guns and explosions.
While the main game will be set in the dystopian future of 2065, which takes place two decades after the events in "Black Ops II," the new trailer shows soldiers grafted with a neural interface that allows them to weaponize their brains, and send them to a virtual reality environment of World War 2, where one character is heard to say "your mind is truly your greatest weapon."
One soldier, upon beholding what appears to be a grim landscape, curses the "perfect future" they got after having wished for and battled for it for so long.
The trailer, which starts off with the game's cutscenes in slow motion, will also depict an increase in the number of augmentations and feature a biomechanical war waged between certain factions. To make things interesting, Treyarch has even added zombies.
"Law and Order: SVU" actor Christopher Meloni makes an appearance in the trailer towards the end, with Nolan North's voice coming out of his mouth. There has been audio recognition of other famous actors' voices in the trailer, including Bill Paxton and Katee Sackhoff, although their participation in the video game has yet to be confirmed.
Players will be tasked to go on a single-player campaign where they will embark upon a mission to find their missing brothers, and hence get hooked up to the direct neural interface that will send them back in time.
"Call of Duty: Black Ops III" is scheduled to be released for PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on November 6.
