Actor Tyrone Perez Found Dead with Gunshot Wound (VIDEO)
Actor Tyron Perez, 26, was found shot to death in an abandoned car in Valenzuela Thursday.
The actor, who became well known in 2003 after an appearance in "Star Struck," was reported to have been shot by a .22 caliber gun, in the passenger backseat of his Toyota Altis.
Reports state that Perez died of a gunshot wound to the right temple. Police are investigating whether the wound was self-inflicted. The gun was found beside the body.
Perez was currently working for "Star Magic," a project developed to create new stars for the ABS-CBN network. The actor’s most recent work includes “Maalaala Mo Kaya: Baunan,” “Mula Sa Puso”, and “Your Song Presents: Andi.”
"Star Magic" said in a statement: "Our deepest condolences to the family of Tyron. Let's pray for the eternal repose of his soul."
According to "Star Magic," Perez had not been seen since the Star Magic Ball, which occurred earlier this year.
"Star Struck" is one of the most popular over-all talent competition shows in the Philippines. ABS-CBN is an all a Philippine based network owned by the ABS-CBN Corporation.
The corporation is the largest media and entertainment company in the Philippines and the first commercial television network in Asia.
Friends and fans of Perez mourned his death on Twitter, wishing him peace.
