Other notable nominees included CCM veteran Michael W. Smith, who picked up his 11th Grammy nod for his most recent album release Healing Rain.

On receiving word of his nomination, Smith commented, “It sounds trite – but the first thing that always comes to mind is – ‘it’s a real honor’ to be nominated – and it is. I appreciate people thinking enough of this project to nominate it for the Grammy. In light of so much unrest around the world – I hope this project has brought some healing to people that so desperately need it.”

The 48th Annual Grammy Awards will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and once again will be broadcast live in high-definition TV and 5.1 surround sound on CBS from 8 – 11:30 p.m. EST/PST.
