Adele Declines Amy Winehouse Tribute Invitation, Performing Would Be 'Too Much'
Adele has declined an invitation to perform in an Amy Winehouse tribute show because the singer has allegedly not yet come to terms with Winehouse's death.
The Grammy award-winning artist was approached by singer George Michael who expressed his interest in singing a duet with the 24-year-old. Adele rejected his offer because she is still emotional about Winehouse's untimely death, according to London radio station Heart 106.2.
"We communicated by email and initially what I wanted was for us to sing 'Love is a losing game' by Amy Winehouse at the Elizabeth Taylor tribute I did at Covent Garden," Michael told the radio station.

"She told me that she tried to put one of [Winehouse's] songs in her own set and she couldn't even get through it. I think they knew each other from the Brits School. They're obviously musical goddesses but I think the tragedy would have been too much for [Adele]," he explained.
Winehouse died at age 27 on July 23, 2011 from alleged alcohol poisoning, and her tragic death shocked many of those closest to her, including singers Kelly Osbourne and Adele.
Despite still mourning her tragic loss, Adele says that she is "excited" after learning that she and her boyfriend Simon Konecki are expecting their first child.
"I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together," Adele wrote on her website.
"I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time," she added.
The"Someone Like You" singer was rocked with affair claims in January following reports that Konecki was still legally married. Adele blasted the reports as being false and confirmed that Konecki is divorced.
"It's true love for Adele and Simon. They are committed to each other and ready to be a family. Adele feels that falling pregnant is like hitting the jackpot," a source told Capital FM UK.
"She said 'I've been on a high for a year with my work and personal life, but the best is yet to come,'" the source added.
