Adrian Peterson Lifted In Prayer By Tim Tebow, Kevin Durant, Lebron James and More
Adrian Peterson, the Christian Minnesota Vikings running back, is receiving a great deal of prayer from high profile individuals after news broke that his two-year-old son was killed.
Peterson, 28, recently learned that his son was beaten to death by the boyfriend of the young boy's mother. While Peterson has stayed strong publicly following the ordeal, he became a trending topic on Twitter where an overwhelming amount of celebrity support and prayers flooded the social media networking website.
Aside from his Vikings team members and coaching staff, Petersen received support from others in and around the NFL community.
Tim Tebow, the well-known evangelical Christian football player, tweeted his support saying, "Praying for u!!! @AdrianPeterson."
Dez Bryant, the Dallas Cowboys wide receiver, also echoed Tebow's sentiments.
"Prayers go out to @AdrianPeterson and his entire family," Bryant tweeted.
Despite grieving his loss, Peterson took to Twitter to express gratitude for his NFL family.
"The NFL is a fraternity of brothers and I am thankful for the tweets, phone calls and text messages from my fellow players," Peterson tweeted.
However, NFL players were not the only athletes to lift Peterson in prayer during his tough time. Lebron James, the Miami Heat forward, tweeted his prayers for Peterson.
"My deepest condolences goes out to Adrian Peterson and his family! Sending prayers up for you homie," James tweeted. "Nothing I can say can help u through.."
Kevin Durant, an Oklahoma City Thunder forward, was one of many who were shocked by the news.
"Man this is crazy man, prayers up to Adrian Peterson and his family," Durant tweeted.
Prayers for Peterson were not only limited to athletes, but entertainers across multiple platforms took to Twitter to show their spiritual support for the NFL star in his time of need.
"My prayers go out to Adrian Peterson and his whole family," singer-songwriter Chris Brown tweeted. "Love u bro."
After countless celebrities, organizations and fans expressed their support for Peterson, the football star expressed his appreciation on Twitter.
"God Bless everyone and thank u so much," Peterson tweeted.
