Adrienne Maloof Confirms 'Housewives' Departure, Triggers Boycott?

Adrienne Maloof recently confirmed that she will not be returning to the "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" in season four and a new report claims that she and a former co-star have triggered a boycott of the show.

The veteran "Housewife" took to social networking site Twitter on Monday where she addressed the ongoing reports of her allegedly quitting the show. On Friday, it was claimed that Maloof refused to attend the season three reunion show taping under the advice of her high-powered attorneys.

"To my loyal fans . . . It was time to exit RHOBH," Maloof tweeted Monday. "The show served as a wonderful platform, stay tuned!"

The 51-year-old mother of three was at the center of controversy throughout season three after her co-star Brandi Glanville exposed a previously well kept family secret. The startling revelation resulted in threats of a lawsuit and the vast majority of cast members siding with Glanville, 40.

"Even though Adrienne is contractually obligated to go, her lawyers have told her she doesn't have to because Bravo breached the contract by revealing details of the surrogacy [secret] of her twin sons," a source previously told Radar Online. "If Adrienne thought it would be a healthy environment, she wouldn't be considering not going."

The news follows reports that Camille Grammer, who also joined the Bravo reality TV show in season one, also quit and refused to attend Friday's reunion show taping.

"Camille has decided not to go to the reunion taping," a source said. "Camille has also told producers that she won't be returning for the fourth season."

Both women have since reportedly triggered a boycott of the show, with several Hollywood lawyers and managers allegedly banding together to advise potential cast members of the risks associated with the show, according to TMZ.

Maloof is reportedly furious over claims previously made on the show by Glanville as she believes they were defamatory and potentially placed her business ventures at risk.

"It's fine if Brandi Glanville does the show. She doesn't have anything going for her and the show makes her famous," a source sniped. "But for someone who has a real business or career outside the show, they need to stay a mile away."
