Aerosmith Global Warming Tour Opens in Minneapolis (PHOTO)

Aerosmith's Global Warming Tour is set to kick off Saturday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis.

The tour will help to promote the legendary rock band's 15th studio album, Music From Another Dimension!

American Idol judge and lead singer Steven Tyler has said, "A year ago, nobody wanted to do an album. Now we're all on the same page, and we've been burning the candle at both ends. It all comes together when the band gets on stage. It's nothing but beautiful, and all the crap melts away. That's when the band is a band, no matter what else is going on."

Tyler's stint in the mainstream spotlight as a judge on American Idol had reportedly worried band members and fans, who were concerned that the distraction would be too much for the band. The aging group, many felt, would need to have complete focus to get their new album completed and prepare for tour. However, the band has proven why they've outlasted other rock bands, and have come together as one to create a new album and delight fans with their new tour.

Tyler has said, "We've already gone through all our problems…. Joe and I were fighting for a while, that's no secret… But whatever demons or realities were going on in the band, it happens with bands that stay together for 40 years and have the success that we have."

Perry has added, "It's only as good as those two hours onstage. The rest of it, I have no idea how it works. With Aerosmith, we put one foot in front of the other and hope for the best."
