After The iPhone SE, Will There Be An iPhone 7 Pro?
Only a few days away until Apple's March 21 spring event where the company is expected to announce a new and smaller iPhone, the iPhone SE which is said to be the successor of the iPhone 5S, the 4-inch screen model of the iPhone. While fans await the official announcement, the rumor mill is once again grinding, with rumors that Apple is working on another new kind of iPhone, the iPhone Pro.
According to a report in Forbes, images of the rumored device have found themselves online. The images reportedly show prototypes of the iPhone 7 Pro, which is a 5.5-inch device that is expected to have higher technical specs than the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The report also noted that this new phone will likely be unveiled with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus sometime in September.
The unique feature of the rumored iPhone 7 Pro is its dual lens camera, which the report called "revolutionary." An earlier Forbes report said that this was the same camera set-up as the LG G5, where the lenses have "different fields of view" and "can be used to select either telephoto or wide angle modes."
From the looks of the images, the device looks like it will not have any major redesign and will still look much like the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S.
Aside from the dual camera set-up, another rumor also came out about the phone sporting a redesigned antenna. This rumor however has been debunked, after Meizu, another smartphone maker admitted that the images leaked were of their upcoming phone.
According to another report in Gadgets 360, another image of the device showed the rear of the iPhone Pro, with the dual camera set-up which is encased in what looks like a capsule that is raised and the redesigned antenna line. The image also shows what looked like the three-dot smart connector that is found on the iPad Pro, as a way of connecting to the Smart Keyboard. However, the images do not show if the iPhone 7 Pro will still have the standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
