'Agent Carter' Season 2 News: 'Doctor Strange' Appearance Hinted
Hayley Atwell will be reprising her role as Agent Peggy Carter for season 2 of "Agent Carter," and an executive has recently hinted that fans will see a "Doctor Strange" story line somewhere in the season.
The news comes as a treat to many fans who know Peggy very well through the comic books. Carter Matt notes that Peggy's new life in downtown Los Angeles will pave the way to make her the amazing fighter that she is known for.
Peggy will be faced with a number of challenges and will see changes in her life that will apparently show how she has become one of Marvel's most iconic characters, not to mention her contributions to what fans know as SHIELD.
Meanwhile, lots of buzz have gone around online after season 2 of the hit series was announced. One of the news that recently fueled the anticipation of fans is the announcement that a "Doctor Strange" plot will be introduced.
According to Movie Pilot, executive producer Tara Butters shared some details about the upcoming season that fans should look forward to. "I can also tell you, and this is somewhat of a spoiler, there's a thing called Darkforce...and it comes out of the Doctor Strange universe as well. That's going to show up, causing problems for people," she said.
Doctor Strange's entry or cameo role in the series will likely open the doors for a whole new story line that will be linked to the Darkforce. It is also possible that the two heroes will join hands in fighting forces of evil and the idea would definitely be a good reason for fans to watch the upcoming season.
"Agents of SHIELD" season 1 described the Darkforce as a type of energy that comes from a dark and shady universe called the Darkforce Dimension. Due to its dark history, any powered being who makes use of the energy will pose a threat to humanity.
The Darkforce entering Agent Carter's backyard is definitely a good start to establish Peggy's vital role in the history of Marvel heroes.
"Agent Carter" season 2 premieres on Jan. 5, 2016.
