'Agent Carter' Season 2 Release Date, Latest News: Teasers Released; Agent Carter Headed To Hollywood
Marvel's "Agent Carter" is coming back and the unstoppable secret agent will be taking on Hollywood in the second season of the action drama series. ABC has just released the new teaser for Season 2 of the show and it reveals Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) taking on the bad guys and enjoying a little romance on the side.
"I'm just getting started," the English-born spy says in the new action-packed trailer.
Season 2 of "Agent Carter" finds the Strategic Scientific Reserve agent journeying from New York City to Los Angeles for one of her most dangerous missions yet. But, according to the official synopsis, as Carter gets a new home, forms new friendships, and maybe even finds a new love, she's also about to find out that behind the post-war glitz and glamour of the City of Angels lays an evil plot that threatens everyone she is bound to protect.
But Carter will get some help, as it looks like a good chunk of the cast from Season 1 will be returning to the show. James D'Arcy (as Edwin Jarvis) and Enver Gjokaj (as Daniel Sousa) will be along for the ride. Chad Michael Murray will return as Chief Jack Thompson, as will Dominic Cooper (as Howard Stark) and Bridget Regan (as Dottie Underwood). The second season will also feature Wynn Everett (as Whitney Frost aka Madame Masque), Currie Graham (as Calvin Chadwick, Frost's husband), Reggie Austin (as Jason Wilkes), and Lotte Verbeek (as Ana Jarvis).
So what's in store for Peggy Carter in Season 2? Earlier this year, executive producer Tara Butters told Variety: "We've talked about exploring more of Peggy's past; how did she end up working for the SSR, what drove her to that? Just exploring Peggy — that's the great thing about television, it allows you to explore these characters more in-depth than you get in a movie."
"Agent Carter" returns with a 2-hour premiere event on Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC and will air Tuesdays at 9-10 pm for the duration of its run.
