'Agent Carter' Season 2 Plot News: To Introduce Madame Masque as New Villain, Casting Not Yet Revealed
The heroine Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell) will be facing new challenges in the upcoming season two of "Agent Carter." Executive producers Tara Butters and Chris Dingess were not so secretive on who it will be and instantly revealed that Agent Carter will be seen battling Madame Masque.
Butlers and Dingess thought it was essential for Agent Carter to have a female villain to clash with in the coming season, as it introduced several new storytelling opportunities and challenges for the main protagonist.
The same source also noted that people behind the show are putting their own spin on the villainous Madame Masque. Her appearance in "Agent Carter" will not exactly match with how she looks in the comic books as there will be some unique touches to her character. The producers have decided to do it that so that her character is in line with the current trend of the show's style.
"I think we've changed the look of her a bit obviously", Butters said. "We've made her an actress, which is very Hedy Lamar."
In the comic book version, Madame Masque was the daughter of an infamous crime lord of Marvel's version of the Mafia that followed his footsteps, according to TV News Room. She is a brilliant student who eventually became the head of the crime syndicate and will become Peggy's biggest threat.
With Madame Masque's very interesting character in the comic books, fans may expect the new female mischief-maker to come with bizarre stories in the sophomore outing. As to her villain look, she is known to be armored (and masked) and has skill with robotics, so it will exciting to know what will exactly be the changes to the character in the live-action series.
The show has already cast the actress who will play the antagonist role but details as to who it is has not yet been revealed. Fans will have to stay tune for it. Marvel's "Agent Carter" Season 2 will premiere on ABC in 2016.
