'Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.' Season 3 Spoilers: Watchdogs Want to Destroy Inhumans, Mack Gets Help From His Brother as Simmons Struggles With the Past
In the upcoming episode of "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," Coulson and his team are up against a new group called the Watchdogs, who like Hydra, are out to destroy the Inhumans. According to a report in International Business Times, the S.H.I.E.L.D. team will have to deal with this new threat without the help of two of its agents, Bobbi and Hunter.
Episode 14 which is entitled "Watchdogs" will introduce a new character, Ruben, as Mack's brother. Ruben is played by Gauis Charles, who previously starred in "Grey's Anatomy" and "Friday Night Lights." According to the episode's official synopsis, Mack and his brother are "caught in the crossfire" as the agents go against the Watchdogs. A CarterMatt report speculated on whether Ruben is someone Mack can trust, or whether he is someone who is part of the radical group.
According to the report, the upcoming episode will likely give fans a closer peek into Mack's character and backstory which is something that the show has not yet done.
In the meantime, another character in the team is experiencing her own personal turmoil, according to another CarterMatt report. Jemma Simmons, played by Elizabeth Henstridge, seems to be working on herself so that she becomes a better field agent. She is shown doing target practice and getting advice from May. Her motivation for self-improvement, however, may be a direct effect of the emotional trauma she has gone through the past year. Based on the episode's sneak peek, this may be one of the focal points of the story – how Simmons will handle herself after what she has been through.
The IBT report also noted that Simmons will discover a "powerful chemical compound that could alter the future of Inhumans." How she will use this discovery will likely be explored in the episode. Daisy, on the other hand, is doing all she can to find out more about the Watchdogs, even using her powers to "interrogate" a suspect, much to the dismay of Agent Mack.
"Watchdogs" airs on Tuesday, March 29 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
