'Agents of SHIELD' Season 2 Release Date, Spoilers: Lucy Lawless Role Details Revealed
The first season for "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." ended with Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) and his team being assigned to rebuild the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization from the ground up, and now fans are waiting for the show's return, hoping that the new season will be just as thrilling as the first one. With the confirmed additions of new members to the cast, it appears that Season 2 of the show could prove to be equally intriguing as its first season.
Season 2 of the show will include players from the comic books as well as new characters specifically created for the series, Screenrant.com.
A few weeks ago, it was been reported that Lucy Lawless, star of "Xena: Warrior Princess," is joining the show. Recently, new details about her role have been revealed by the show runners, and it has been confirmed that she will be playing the role of Isabelle Hartley, a veteran agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Other new players include Nick Blood as Lance Hunter— an ally to Agent Coulson who originated in the comics— and Reed Diamond as Hydra agent Daniel White.
Simon Kassianides (Quantum of Solace) has joined the cast as Bakshi, a character described as being a "confident right-hand man who's not afraid to do the dirty work," Deadline reported.
"Desperate Housewives" alum Kyle McLachlan has also joined the cast of S.H.I.E.L.D. He will be playing a recurring role referred to as "The Doctor."
McLachlan's character is also Skye's (Chloe Bennet) mysterious father, who was glimpsed at the end of season one, according to TVLine.
"Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 2 premieres on ABC on Sept. 23.
