'Alaskan Bush People' Ami Brown Health Update: Brown Matriarch Still Battling Cancer

Despite reports about being cured of lung cancer, "Alaskan Bush People" star Ami Brown is reportedly in a very bad health condition.

According to a fan-operated Facebook page called Alaskan Bush People Exposed, Ami felt fine after finishing a round of chemotherapy before Thanksgiving, but she suffered from a setback after shortly after. This made her very ill.

Fortunately, the Brown matriarch is currently recuperating in Los Angeles. But it does not mean that her battle with Stage 4 lung cancer is finally over. "There has been no miracle cure and unfortunately this will be a long battle for her. She has lost a lot of her hair, wears a hat most of the time and very frail. Hopefully, after the holidays she will get strong enough to start filming the upcoming season," the post claimed.

On the other hand, Ami's family remained optimistic about the progress of her health in the special Christmas episode of "Alaskan Bush People" on Discovery Channel.

In the episode that aired over the weekend, Ami's doctor told her husband Billy that there are a lot of signs proving that she can defeat her disease.

Billy also mentioned that Ami's lungs were already clear. "She's still weak and has a cough and all that, but if you look at her eyes it's the best part because Ami's back inside there and she wasn't for a while," the reality star stated as reported by Radar Online.

The Browns had to move out of their home in the wilderness of Alaska and settle in California for Ami's treatments. Both Ami and Billy were joined by their kids Matt, Bam Bam, Bear, Gabe, Noah, Birdy, and Rain in the plight to improve the matriarch's health.

The family will be back on screen when the new season of "Alaskan Bush People" on Discovery Channel on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018.
