Alec Baldwin Introduces Daughter Carmen: 'I'm So Blessed'
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin introduced their daughter, Carmen, to the world this week. The second-time father said that he was very "blessed" to have another opportunity to be a father and was looking forward to raising his baby girl.
"I am so lucky and blessed, all those things everybody feels when you have a baby and you want to have that family," Alec told the cameras. "I hope she looks like her mother. What a waste of time it would be to marry a woman like that and have the kid look like me."
"She looks like herself," Hilaria countered. "We'll have to see… Every single day, she changes so much. Honestly, it's a dream come true. Every single day I have trouble sleeping because I just want to look at her, and every single day you wake up and it's Christmas. It's a love that hurts. I want to make sure she's okay, every single step of the way… it's just absolutely indescribable."
Alec already has one daughter, Ireland, who he's had a rocky relationship with. He famously left her a voicemail calling her a "pig" and other demeaning comments. Yet the two have seemingly repaired their relationship and are enjoying the newest arrival.
"You have been born into one crazy family," a letter posted online from Ireland to Carmen read. "Remember that your parents will always love you. Grown ups yell. I don't know why, but they do. No matter what your mom or Dad says or does, simply remember that they love the [expletive] out of you. I have said many things to our Dad and to my mom that I regret terrible. I have hurt their feelings countless times. It isn't worth it."
"It's a second chance for me, in a way," Alec told People. "Everybody knows I had a pretty unpleasant custody battle for Ireland. We just want things to be easy, to be nice."
