Alec Baldwin 'Tebowing' Has Star Quarterback Giving Lessons (VIDEO)
Alec Baldwin, who stars on the television series "30 Rock," tried his hand at "Tebowing" Saturday night, while hosting the NFL Honors awards show on NBC.
Before introducing the first presenter at the NFL Honors, Baldwin bent a knee and raised his hands to the sky as the audience responded with laughter.
Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow then took to the stage and adjusted Baldwin's pose to the proper "Tebowing" position.
"Bless you, Tim," Baldwin thanked Tebow.
NBC's NFL Honors show, held on the evening of Saturday, Feb. 4 in Indianapolis, Ind., announces The Associated Press' awards for the 2011 football season. The awards show, which brings together Hollywood celebrities and National Football League players, included such postseason honors as coach of the year and league MVP.
Although Sunday's spotlight was on the New York Giants and New England Patriots as they battled it out for the XLVI Super Bowl victory, Tebow also received a large amount of attention over the weekend.
Pop singer Katy Perry also gave Tebow a shout-out at Saturday's awards ceremony as she presented The AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award to Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. "Hey Tim, my parents say hi," Perry said.
Both Perry and Tebow's parents are Christian, with her father being a prominent Evangelical pastor in Southern California, while Tebow's parents have also been active in ministries.
There have been rumors that Perry's parents were attempting to set her up with the famed Christian quarterback, as she divorced from her British comedian husband Russell Brand in Dec. 2011.
Perry also mentioned Tebow during her performance at the DIRECTV Super Saturday night party, on Feb. 4, during which she dedicated her suggestive song "Peacock" to the star quarterback.
Tebow was also linked to Maria Menounos, a correspondent of celebrity gossip program "Extra," during the sports-centered weekend. Tebow was seen getting cozy with the Menounos at Friday's ESPN party.
Tebow has never been shy of publicly displaying his Christian faith. He attracted national attention when he wore the Bible passage John 3:16 as quarterback for the Florida Gators, then later when he inspired the prayer pose known as "Tebowing."
