Alex 'A-Rod' Rodriguez Gushes About 'Amazing' Cameron Diaz
Baseball star Alex Rodriguez has finally opened up about his relationship with actress Cameron Diaz months after the pair parted ways.
"I don't like talking about my relationships, but I will tell you about CD: She's probably one of the greatest human beings I've ever met, and just an amazing light," Rodriguez recently told "The Insider" host Kevin Frazier.
While the Yankees star usually remains coy about his private life, he spoke openly about his appreciation for Diaz, and was unenthusiastic when asked whether he would ever marry again.
"I'm not sure. I think my new hero is George Clooney," Rodriguez said about close friend Clooney, who has vowed never to marry again following his 1993 divorce from actress Talia Balsam. "He's my new role model. I think he's done it right."
The 36-year-old, who was married to Cynthia Rodriguez for six years before they divorced in 2008, began dating Diaz in 2010, although their rocky relationship ended in 2011.
Rodriguez, who is notorious for regularly changing girlfriends, has been romantically linked to several Hollywood stars, including Diaz's good friend Kate Hudson.
After an intimate photo of Diaz feeding Rodriguez popcorn at the 2011 Super Bowl was made public, the 39-year-old gushed about her "love" for the father of two.
"We were watching the game, and I was eating, and I was getting down to, like, the last couple pieces of popcorn," Diaz said on "The Late Show with David Letterman."
"And all of a sudden, I see his hand coming in," she said, referring to Alex. "Anybody who knows me does not put their hand in my food, especially when it's close to my mouth. I said, 'What are you--?' And then I went, 'You know what? I love you too much, I'm going to give it to you. You deserve it," she explained.
The pair split in September 2011 and Rodriguez began dating WWE wrestler Torrie Wilson, who is a close friend of Clooney's girlfriend Stacy Keibler.
