'Alien 5' News: Teaser Photos of Rifle Revealed
More teasers about the upcoming film "Alien 5" have revealed that it will see the return of a beloved weapon featured in the past installments.
It was reported that Neill Blomkamp, director of the film, recently posted a teaser for the film on his Instagram account. The photo showed a photo of M41A Pulse Rifle with an original design and modified RIS, as well as a laser aiming module and telescopic sight. The Instagram post had the caption, "We all knew there would be pulse rifles. Obviously now with added RIS."
Fans are excited to see the return of the said device, stating that the new look still has a touch of the past installments. There were reports stating that it was the weapon for colonial marines, called the Pulse Rifle. It was used by Sigourney Weaver and Michael Biehn while they fought through the terraforming colony. Another version was seen during the film "Alien 3," as a delta version of the rifle.
Blomkamp recently spoke about the actress Weaver and her return for the role of Ripley. He said, "[Sigourney] knows about it and part of it was just inspired by speaking to her on set when we were filming 'Chappie,' and getting her thoughts on 'Alien' and what she thought of the movies that came after 'Aliens' and what she felt about Ripley and what was incomplete for her about Ripley. There was so much fuel in what she was telling me."
However, there has yet to be more news on the upcoming film. It was reported that Ridley Scott will be the one directing the prequel movie for the "Alien" franchise. The prequel will be called "Alien Paradise Lost." Ridley Scott was recently involved in the film "The Martian," which was released last month.
"Alien 5" and "Alien Paradise Lost" have yet to receive a release date.
