Allison Williams Engagement Ring Revealed on TV, Actress 'Obsessed' With Diamond
Allison Williams appeared on "Late Night" with Seth Meyers this week where she discussed her brand new engagement ring.
The "Girls" actress confirmed her engagement to Ricky Van Veen on Feb. 28, but since then, Williams opened up about the proposal as well as the stunning diamond sparkler on her left hand.
"I was completely surprised, and the funniest thing about that is that I consider myself someone impossible to surprise and yet I am constantly," the 25-year-old actress explained to Meyers during the interview.
Williams, who is the daughter of ABC News anchor Brian Williams, has been dating Van Veen for three years after meeting through mutual friends, according to People.com. Growing giddy, the actress admitted that she adores her new engagement ring while on "Late Night."
"I'm obsessed with it," she said. "I stare at it a lot. We're thrilled."
Despite keeping the details of the engagement to herself, Williams said that the decision to marry has already changed her relationship for the better.
"It feels a little different, as you know," she told Meyers, who got married last year. "It just changes the stakes clearly. It's really fun."
Van Veen is the co-founder of CollegeHumor, a popular comedy website which he created as a student at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. Today, the entrepreneur is also the CEO of Notional, a television production company born out of the comedy website.
Although Van Veen and Williams have not yet set a wedding date, the actress who portrays Marnie on HBO's "Girls" admitted she would "walk away from" her career in order to start a family.
"I'd love to be a mom- and not have to bring my kids into my trailer … Or a balance [of both]," said Williams while speaking to Glamour magazine earlier this year. "But you've [got to] call it on the fly to a certain extent."
