Alyssa Milano Responds to Jay Mohr's 'Fat-Shaming' Comments: 'Be Well and God Bless'
Actress Alyssa Milano welcomed her first child in August and has not slowed down since, hosting various programs and events on TV. However, the new mother recently had to deal with colleague Jay Mohr's disparaging remarks about her weight and appearance but kept it polite and wished him and his wife both well.
"So sorry you felt the need to publicly fat-shame me," Milao tweeted to Mohr. "Be well and God bless. Please send my love to your beautiful wife."
Mohr and Milano worked together at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series award show in Las Vegas in December. He hosted the event while Milano was a presenter. After the event, though, Mohr went on the radio and made some very unflattering remarks about his colleague.
"Alyssa's very tiny – in height – but it seems like she had a baby and said, 'I don't really give a [expletive]' – I read it on her gut," Mohr allegedly said. He also called her "Melissa Milano" perhaps in reference to the popular cookie and added, "Somebody sat in the director's chair and was not wearing Spanx and I was like, 'Jesus Christ.'"
Milano and husband David Bugilari welcomed son Milo Thomas in August. The couple married in 2009 and Milo is the first child for both of them. Milano has been a public figure since her childhood, when she starred as tomboy Samantha (Sam) Malone on "Who's the Boss?" with Tony Danza and Judith Light.
Since then she has continued to have a successful career, appearing on various shows including the popular "Charmed" with Rose McGowan.
McGowan tweeted her support to her former co-star and asked if she needed "to kick someone's a**."
Milano's fans have been incredibly supportive and voiced their encouragement for the actress in response to Mohr's harsh criticism.
"You're all lovely," Milano tweeted in response. "Thank you for your kind words. #Appreciative."
So far there has been no response from Mohr about his remarks.
