Amanda Bynes' Erratic Behavior Continues While Actress Locks Herself in Fitting Room
Amanda Bynes, 26-year-old actress who made a name for herself as a child star on Nickelodeon, has been raising some eyebrows with her erratic behavior lately. Most recently, the actress made headlines for locking herself in a West Hollywood Boutique dressing room for close to two hours.
Bynes decided to spend one hour and 45 minutes in the fitting room at Kin Boutique in West Hollywood on Monday, according to TMZ reports. When one store clerk began to hear banging coming from the dressing room every 10 minutes, the individual reportedly called another employee to drive to the store.
When the two employees attempted to check on the actress, the website reported that Bynes told them, "I need more time."
Close to two hours later, Bynes reportedly emerged from the dressing room with a pair of stilettos, sunglasses and other items that she paid for. However TMZ reports that the actress almost walked out of the store with a bathing suit top underneath her dress, which she paid for once an employee pointed out the item.
After the actress noticed that paparazzi were waiting outside the boutique, she reportedly asked one of the store clerks to call her a cab. Still, one store employee reportedly expressed concern about the matter.
"I was so worried about her. I didn't know what she was doing in [the dressing room]," the clerk said, according to TMZ reports. "I didn't know if she was overdosing, or doing drugs or what."
Bynes' behavior is the most recent in a number of troubling incidents involving the actress. The 26-year-old is scheduled for a court appearance on Friday because of a pending DUI case stemming from her allegedly running into a police car last April.
A few days after the incident, she was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run accident, along with another similar incident in August, according to US Weekly reports. Since then, the actress' California license has reportedly been revoked while her car has been impounded.
A witness reportedly told Us Weekly that the actress also seemed troubled on a recent shopping trip where she "wouldn't stop talking to herself."
After TMZ posted images of Bynes smoking from what seems to be a pipe in her car last week, one officer told the publication that the young actress is a danger to both herself and others.
"She's on the same road as my wife and kids and I'm scared about getting a call in the middle of the night that my little one is dead," the police officer told the publication. "She's addicted to something and she's driving a deadly weapon and is going to kill someone. It scares the (expletive) out of me."
