Amanda Bynes Shaves Head: 'I Love It!' (PHOTOS)
Amanda Bynes debuted a drastic new hairstyle on Thursday, following a series of erratic behavior she has displayed in recent months.
The troubled actress, 27, admittedly shaved half of her head and characteristically took to social networking site Twitter to show it off to fans. She has frequently altered her appearance recently, raising concerns about her mental state.
"I buzzed half my head like @cassie! No more old photos! This is the new me! I love it!" an excited Bynes tweeted April 25 while comparing herself to singer Cassie Ventura.
On April 12, Bynes claimed she was previously forced to shave her entire head after supposedly having her hair damaged at a New York city hair salon.
"I had to shave my head because of hair damage from someone @ John Barrett so I'm not loving my paparazzi pics for a few years! I have extensions but you can see them!" Bynes tweeted.
Some fans appear to be impressed with the edgy new hairstyle, but some critics have lambasted the sudden change.
In recent months, Bynes has frequently had a series of drastic makeovers which include a cheek piercing and wigs. She has been photographed acting strangely during several random solo outings in New York.
In addition to sexually explicit and offensive tweets, Bynes has been photographed publicly smoking unknown substances and she has also had several driving mishaps. She now faces various legal woes which has reportedly concerned her parents, Lynn and Rick.
"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to look at Amanda and surmise that she is having some sort of crisis. Her makeover is just one example of her troubling behavior. Her parents just wish the media would leave Amanda alone, because it's only making the situation worse. Amanda is lost and she refuses to get help," a source reportedly told RadarOnline.com.
"Her parents are powerless to do anything because she is 27 years of age and there is very little they can do, under the law," the source added.
Bynes has been frequently lashing out at random media outlets in recent months particularly over the photos that are being used in reports that highlight her erratic behavior. In a recent tweet she denied reports suggesting that she smokes marijuana.
"@HuffingtonPost Choose a better photo or remove the story because I don't smoke in the bathroom. I also don't smoke pot I smoke tabacco! There are always tons of photos to choose, you pick the worst one!" Bynes tweeted April 22.
Bynes spontaneously announced April 23 that she is interested in launching a singing career. She tweeted the message directly to AOL and rapper Drake, whom she has been pursuing online in recent weeks.
"I want to start singing in a few years!" Bynes wrote.
