Amanda Knox to Become a 'Big Star,' Says Donald Trump

Amanda Knox is on her way home to Seattle Tuesday after she was acquitted of the murder of her friend Meredith Kercher. Knox boarded a British Airway flight at Leonardo Da Vinco airport in Rome where she and her family traveled via London Heathrow to Seattle, Wash.

Since her acquittal, TV stations are reported to be vying for the first interview with Knox, with millions expected to be offered for the scoop.

Knox is set to make millions in TV and book offers following her release. On top of that, real estate mogul Donald Trump has told CNN that he thinks Knox has some star potential and that he wants to help her find a way to pay her legal fees.

On Monday, he told CNN anchor Erin Burnett that Knox could “become a big star and build some dividends.”

Trump is known to have supported Knox since the beginning of her murder trial.

“I helped the family out. I felt very, very badly for that family and for her. I never thought she did it,” Trump told Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren. “I watched very intently, like everybody else, and there was just no way she was involved in that.”

“And so I did help them out; I feel very, very happy about it. In fact, I said boycott Italy until they release her,” Trump said. “It was really an injustice and I would get on that plane so fast if I were her and get out.”

Trump told Fox News that he had spoken to Amanda Knox’s parents saying, “Well, they’re lovely people.”

He went on: “And this is amazing – she went there for a short period of time to learn Italian and guess what? She learned Italian. That’s the only thing she got out of the trip,” he said to Fox.

“And I think she maybe will be a star. She’s really good; I think she’s a good person.”

He concluded: “I thought it was horrible what happened. I thought the Italian prosecutor was a horrendous person with a terrible background and a terrible record. And it’s great that she’s coming home.”
