'Amazing Spider-Man' and 'Asphalt 7' Android Game Trailers Launched by Gameloft
Gameloft recently launched two new trailers for its Amazing Spider-Man and Asphalt 7 Android OS games.
"The Amazing Spider-Man" will be an action adventure title loosely based off of the upcoming film that debuts July 3. The game puts Android users in the role of Spider-Man as he rids New York City of criminals and super villains.
Judging from the trailer, the game will allow the player to navigate freely through 3D maps based on New York City's landscape. It also appears to play somewhat like some classic Spider-Man titles including "Spider-Man 2," and "Ultimate Spider-Man" that are available for the PS2.
The free-roaming "Grand Theft Auto"-like game play was introduced into the Spider-Man franchise back in 2002 when a game based on the second Spider-Man feature film was released. Critics loved the change and the franchise seems to have kept the formula the same.
"The Amazing Spider-Man" seems to stick with that game play and offer some themes from the new film as well. The graphics appear to be on par with some other popular titles currently available on the smartphone market, including "Temple Run" and another game based on the Captain America film.
Asphalt, on the other hand, has been a successful series for Gameloft. The newest installment, "Asphalt 7: Heat" is featured in the teaser ,and the game has received a significant upgrade in terms of graphics.
The game will also allow players to race in exotic locations such as Shanghai, Hawaii, Moscow, Miami and London.
Cars in the game will now come with more details, making them look more realistic handling better shadows and reflections.
The Asphalt racing series has been in the forefront of Gameloft's releases for quite some time.
