'Amazing Spiderman 3' News: Emma Stone Returns for 2 Possible Roles
Emma Stone could be back in the "Amazing Spiderman 3" movie. Though Stone's character, Gwen Stacy, fell to her death in the second installment of the Spiderman reboot, there are rumors that the actress could be back in the film due to popular demand.
Gwen's death will certainly give way for another love interest for Spiderman, specifically Mary Jane Watson. It is said that Stone could possibly portray the new role because Andrew Garfield, who plays Spiderman, allegedly prefers that his reel-screen love interest should be portrayed by his real-life girlfriend. Stone and Garfield have been dating for three years now.
However, another theory suggests that Stone will play another version of Gwen, as she returns from the dead and is resurrected as the villain Carnage.
In the Marvel universe canon, Gwen was killed by the Carnage symbiote, and the creature absorbed her life force during their first encounter. Later, Peter sees Gwen alive and is surprised when she doesn't appear to recognize him, and she has no memories of her life. In later issues, it is revealed that the Carnage symbiote has taken the form of Gwen after she was killed, and now the symbiote thinks that she is Gwen Stacy.
If the rumors are true and if Stone does appear in the "Amazing Spiderman 3" then she will have to find some time in her increasingly hectic schedule to take on the role, whatever it may be. It has been previously reported that the actress is about to make her Broadway debut in "Cabaret."
Furthermore, the Inquisitr reports that Stone could be in the running for a role in a "Ghostbuster" sequel. Bill Murray has named her as one of the members of his all-girl Ghostbuster dream cast, along with Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, and Linda Cardellini.
Stone has this to say about the rumors of her being back in the upcoming sequel.
"There's a whole plotline that could happen that may bring her back," she told Screenrant.
"Amazing Spiderman 3" is slated to premiere in 2018.
