Amber Heard: Johnny Depp 'Not Part of My Professional Life'
Amber Heard broke the silence on her love life in a recent interview almost a year after the actress was first linked to Johnny Depp.
The "Rum Diaries" co-stars met on the film set in 2009, and their relationship was confirmed in June last year.
However, Heard, 27, insists that her personal life be kept separate from her career while speaking to Flare magazine.
"It's not part of my professional life. I want to be an artist. I don't want to be a celebrity," said the starlet, presumably of 50-year-old Depp.
"You can find pictures of me [online] pumping gas, picking up dry cleaning, walking my dog, but nowhere are you going to find pictures of me hanging around at some nightclub," Heard added.
The Texas native then cited other high-profile relationships found in Hollywood today, noting that public scrutiny involved.
"Can you ever imagine yourself in a situation like Brad Pitt in Angelina Jolie or Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, where the world feels like they have a stake in your private life" Heard said to Flare. "I would never want it."
Lacking answers for how to keep her love life private, the actress added, "I guess I could not hold hands with who I want to, but what kind of life would that be? I don't want to change just because people are watching."
Meanwhile, also speaking up about his career, Depp revealed that his retirement is "probably not too far away," according to E! News.
"At a certain point, you start thinking, and when you add up the amount of dialogue that you say per year, for example, and you realize that you've said written words more than you've actually had a chance to say your own words, you start thinking of that as a kind of insane option for a human being," the actor said.
"So, are there quieter things that I wouldn't mind doing, you know? Yeah, I wouldn't mind that," the star added.
Depp shares two children with Vanessa Paradis, whom he split from last June after 14 years together.
