'American Gods' Spoilers: Series Gets Early Season 2 Renewal?
Word on the street is that "American Gods" has received an early second season from Starz weeks before its premiere.
The report comes from Spoiler TV, who claims that while the network is denying the report, their source says that the Neil Gaiman adaptation has indeed been renewed.
Their insider went on to say that production for "American Gods" season 2 is slated to kick off this September and will wrap up May next year.

With Starz debunking the report, fans are advised to take this with a grain of salt. Comicbook.com speculates that the network does not want to make anything official first until they see how the series performs ratings-wise. Nevertheless, an early renewal for "American Gods" does not come as a surprise to many.
Ever since it was announced in 2015, the show has garnered huge excitement. The hype around the project just grew as the star-studded and talented cast, which includes Ian McShane and Ricky Whittle, was unveiled.
The first season of "American Gods," which will have eight episodes, will only cover one-third of the book of the same name by Gaiman.
The author, who also acts as executive producer of the series, has already expressed interest in doing a second season and even a third one. He already has vision for it too.

"That's sort the idea then, which Lakeside becomes season 2. Although we've got to get to Cairo; there's stuff that's got to happen. And some of it is going to be really interesting in terms of how the keep the various clocks ticking," Gaiman explained in an interview with Observer last year.
"In the books there is a big pivotal thing that happens to Mr. Wednesday — that's probably something that's going to happen at the end of a season, but whether it's the end of Season 2 or Season3, I don't know yet," he went on to say.
Gaiman has also said in the past that "American Gods" will include details that he was not able to include in the book, which meant that viewers will get to spend more time with characters who were not fully fleshed out in the book.
"American Gods" premieres Sunday, April 30, on Starz.
