'American Horror Story' Season 4 Cast News: Matt Bomer Joins 'Freak Show' as Guest Star
"American Horror Story" continues to get better and better, and with its recent Emmy nominations and wins for its third season "Coven," the cast and crew are ready to step up their game for the upcoming season of the show, entitled "Freak Show."
It has been confirmed that Matt Bomer will be joining one episode of the show as a guest star. Show creator Ryan Murphy broke the news himself at Entertainment Weekly's Emmy party, saying that he was excited to work once again with the "White Collar" star. Bomer worked with Murphy on HBO's 'The Normal Heart," on which he was nominated for an Emmy. He also had an arc on "Glee" as Blaine's (Darren Criss) older brother.
Murphy mentioned that he had to work around Bomer's schedule in order to make the appearance work. The actor is highly sought after nowadays, as he gained more fame after appearing in the "Magic Mike" movie with Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey. Bomer is currently filming "Magic Mike 2."
For now, Murphy is keeping mum about Bomer's role, only hinting that it was "warped," according to Entertainment Weekly.
"I sent him a text that said, 'First right of refusal, here's the role'. It's very … warped," said Murphy.
The actor joins new additions to the cast Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley, John Carroll Lynch, Finn Witrock, and Jyoti Amge. Patti LaBelle will also appear in a four-episode arc.
Returning to "American Horror Story" are Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Frances Conroy, Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, and Evan Peters.
"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres on Oct. 8 on FX.
