Creepy Bates Motel mom to join AHS cast
Vera Farmiga plays Norman Bates' mom Norma on Bates Motel. Her character is described as caring and kind towards her son Norman but intensely jealous and paranoid making her keep her son to herself. In the series she suffered abuse in her past life which made her develop a belief that it's her and her son against the world.
With these creepy characteristics, Norma Bates will make a fine addition to American Horror Story cast led by Lady Gaga, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Angela Basset who are all rumoured to return next season.
Vera Farmiga and sister horror franchise veterans
Aside from her role in Bates Motel, Vera is also known for her role in The Conjuring as Lorraine Warren, real-life ghost hunter. Her little sister, Taissa Farmiga is one of the regular casts of American Horror Story. Taissa is also in Murder House's season 1 and in Coven's season 3. These may have fuelled fans to think that the Farmiga sisters can work together in American Horror Story's next season.
Possible season 6 themes revealed
American Horror Story fans certainly have wild imaginations when it comes to the series' next theme and most are drawn from the season's teaser image of the number 6. Storylines including the holocaust, an orphanage, the appearance of Slenderman, Area 51 and a cruise ship are just some of the themes that have surfaced online but the possible appearance of the Devil topped lists because of the interesting number 6 for season 6.
American Horror Story creator on season 6
Ryan Murphy hinted about the importance of children in horror and even said: "If you look at horror tropes, the innocence of children, that sort of wide-eyed entryway into some world is always very dramatic and satisfying." Viewers began to speculate an anti-Christ theme for season 6 after this important revelation from the show's creator.
